MY kicks update

For the past few days you might notice I have not been very active in Facebook or sign in to MSN Messenger, like I was saying before this week and the following will be my HARDCORE ASSIGNMENT week. Everyday is a busy day for me from now on until December, last 2 days I have edited about 50% of the front chapters on my documentary, those who I will pass the free copy to will get to see my effort... (You know who you people are!)

This morning, I downloaded a dvd case template from deviantART and went to did a test print, turn out perfectly and fits my dvd case just nice. Makes my work easier to start doing the concept art next week.

Just earlier tonight, I went to see my FLASH GUY for many of my previous flash based assignment whom I really trust. As you can see Kid now actually works as a Technician in this computer accessories in Giant KD, go to him if you have any problem to your PC!

In my opinion, college days creates the chance for you to meet all kind of people with different personality and strength. Personally I'm not a flash or coding guy, if you notice I'm more into the graphic, video, or sound based works. Therefore working in a group of people with different strengths definitely work to me!

A rough preview of the flash page of MY kicks to you, just to show some progress to my lecturer tomorrow in class, more elements will be added, faced some technical difficulties but hopefully to be fixed before submission!

More updates later!!

MY kicks' ASW official annoucement

So this is it, the official annoucement on one of the project i have been doing past months and will be finishing in the next two weeks.

Just a little something I would like to share with fellow sneakerheads around town, or maybe even those out in Malaysia who would like to see it. You can read a detailed description about what MY kicks is about on the youtube page, I really like applying my interests onto what I do that some people may feel stress about it, this is my way of enjoying works.

So back to the short documentary film, I understand that some people may feel that who am i to tell about the whole sneaker culture in Malaysia? How many years of experience have I had on it and what makes people think what I'm saying in the documentary is what they should believe? But please believe me, I did my researches on most of the things I say and in fact, documentary film is all about the interview targets speaking from their true thoughts and opinions.

So, 2 more weeks until I get my friend Bryan to voice over the narration on my videos, then start editing them and applying into adobe flash format, as my lecturer would like to see it being more interactive than just watching it, then print the dvd cover arts for the output. All in exactly 2 weeks time, wish me luck!!

More progress to be updated soon.

New Header^

after this one
lasted for 3 days. However the one above was simply designed out of boredom in 20mins and I knew it won't last long the moment it is up on my blog.

So there you go with the brand new header which will probly be there for some time. Took me an hour plus for it, picking and arranging this that. ( Designer knows!)

Custom crush denim

When I'm free at home, I like to not waste time and try to create something fun so the day don't get boring. As you can see from my new blog header today, I did my first custom rips on one of my denim from a tutorial online and along the way I also found my way to do it so here's my version of guides to customizing your own denim!

1.Pick a denim you don't mind customizing, because you never know that you might do something wrong and destroy the whole pair of jeans.

2. Next, sketch on the design you would like on your jeans. Since it's your own id, you can personalize it with your favorite number or alphabet, in my case, I did my initial. Avoid doing impossible symbol such as the alphabet 'O'.

3. Next, find a spot (I recommend the bottom part where you fold up when you wear it) just to get a feeling to test what it's like. Use a pen knife and cut only one direction, you might not get the best result at first but along the way you should learn the right way.

4. Once you're confident enough, sketch the design and JUST CUT IT. Remember, One direction only, repeat it in your design area.

5. Get rid of the blue wool which look like the above gently, do not tear by force.

6. Once you're done it shall look a little something like this.^(Not completely)

7. Next if you like to have more rips on different part.
In my way I put on the denim then sketch the desired designs.

8.Like this.

9. Then, do a final touch up once you're happy with all the rips. Take the pen knife and cut through the same direction gently again, get rid of the blue wool, then rub it repeatedly with your hand like above, it will result with a better 'crush' effects.

10. All done. Clean up and ready to rock your new pair of old jeans!

EDISHOW

Just to share this rare moment of two of my favorite asian artist representing HK and TW in a same picture. Both whom had some real fame to attract the usual media making up stories and bring them down, and both who stood strong in not just the entertainment industry but street fashion with their own label as well.

Both whom definitely deserve more respects than the hates from them haters!

*Updating at 4:09am wtf. Btw it's Saturday, and fyi my weekends this semester has been way busier than the weekdays. Tues to Thursday is where i get to relax, weird schedule but yeah -.-
